"it focuses on the Palestinian children... Song - Wavin' Flag by K'naan from Somalia, chosen as the FIFA World Cup 2010 anthem. much better than Shakira's waka waka."

bismillah. one quick post inshaAllah. i am supposed to edit my report writing right now. tapi rasa mcm tk boleh buat selagi tk post vid ni. credits to budak-budak al amin gombak.

bila cakap pasal fifa, ingat lagu ni, bila ingat lagi ni, ingat palestine, bila ingat palestine, teringat conversation dengan this fellow orthodox jew semasa flight ke sydney. yea, sendiri rasa mcm tk sangka boleh berdepan dengan seorang yahudi, sembang-sembang. wow.

and yes, our journey from melbourne to sydney is the one thing that i would personally choose first bila ditanya untuk cerita tentang pengalaman ke oz. mmg byk. kalau tanya 4 orang yang lain, mungkin mereka ada scene favourite mereka juga.

flight kami dijadualkan pada pukul 7.35am. decided to go by public transport to the airport pagi-pagi buta. tapi alhamdulillah, dapat rasa mahalnya ukhuwwah, kak pnut sangat baik hati, walaupun kami insisted untuk tk nak menyusahkan, dia pula insisted untuk tolong pinjamkan van akhawwat melbourne, kemudian dia dan zauj hantar kami ke airport. dahla masa tu subuh pun tk masuk lagi. sampaikan kak pnut sahur kena sahur dlm van. huee.

tiba di airport, dugaan besar, our flight was canceled. options were - sama ada refund (tp burn return flight) atau amik the next available flight (pukul 5 ptg. cons nya- tkde ample time untuk round sydney since flight return adalah esoknya, tgh hari). had an intense syura for a while and sepakatly settled for the latter.

tp subhanAllah, staf dkt situ suprisingly kata "go to gate 3, you guys are boarding". all 5 of us were startled, terus lari menuju gate 3. rasa mcm nak sujud syukur terus. tapi tk sempat sebab staf tu squeezed us in the earlier flight, 6.50am. jadi kena cepat. alhamdulillah.

since kami dimuatkan dalam flight yang sepatutnya dah nak boarding, jadi seats kami sangat berterabur. bila masuk dalam cabin je, cari for my seat. dan bila dah jumpa je terus macam, "ya Allah, alamak", sebab nampak lelaki muda pakai ketayap kecik atas kepala. and it was for sure he's a Jew. tarik nafas, dan erm, controlll. mintak switch seats dgn Jew tu, sbb lagi selesa + senang nak solat (subuh) dekat seat tepi rather than di tengah-tengah dua org lelaki. dia kata okay.

lepas habis solat dan lain-lain. jeling dekat sebelah. dia keluarkan kitab Talmud, kemudian baca sambil tunjuk jari dekat verse yang dia baca. tapi bahasa Hebrew, so memang tapaham. yang kelakar, bila keluarkan mathurat pulak, boleh perasan dua-dua saling menjeling (tp masih tade yg volunteer nak start a conversation), dia pun keluarkan dia punya kitab kecik (tatau apa). lol. tk lama lepas tu, jeling lagi, dia tengah dgr ipod, lagu hawthorne heights. ha ha. saya pulak dengar lagu sambil buat travelog dgn penuh rasa excited nak cerita pengalaman duduk sebelah jew. heh.

tiba-tiba teringat my favourite moez masoud speech. pasal QS 49:13. which inspired me to start a conversation. heh.

fikir idea nak start conversation sambil baca mag. selak muka surat, ada cerita pasal KL. terus tanya "have you been here?". dia kata, tak. cey. pause. pastu tanya lagi.
me : where are you from?

him
: i am living in sydney. [pause] . i'm from Israel (bila dengar Israel je, control muka mcm cool sambil dalam hati. is this me talking to an Israeli for real? tatau nak rasa apa.), my parents are in Canada.

me
: ouh, erm, i know that there are many types of Jews, right, so which Jew are you?

him
: i'm an Orthodox. you? which type of Muslim are you? sunni or syiah?

*tatau kenapa gelabah, mungkin sebab tk pernah sesiapa address that Q kot*
me : i'm following syafie mazhab. (padahal tiada dalam pilihan jawapan, lol)

him
: oh? ive never heard of that, can you repeat that?

me
: syafie. there are actually many mazhabs (islamic school of laws). syafie falls under sunni. but the diferences are just minor, our faith is still the same, we believe in One True God, Allah.

him
: ouh, same goes for us. we also have different jews, yet our belief is still the same. and in fact our belief is v/ much in common w/ the muslims, we also believe in One True God. that's why we can enter mosques but we are prohibited from entering churches. christian teachings are already diverted, bla bla (perasan jugak lelaki dkt seat hujung tu jeling dekat kitorang. adakah kerana dia kristian dan dia terasa? adakah dia risau dan tak percaya tengok muslim berinteraksi dengan israeli?)

me
: *nodded*

him
: did you become muslim from birth or you discover it on yr own?

me
: i am muslim from birth. ... but i like to watch videos and read stories of muslim reverts .. (tk sempat habis ckp, kena potong)

him
: you mean convert?

me
: revert

him
: convert

me
: *uhuk. papelah*. ...because sometimes i think their understanding towards islam is much better than mine.

him
: yeah, same. just like in our religion.

me
: anyways. i'd like to ask. what is a Jew's view regarding islam & muslims?

him
: what do you mean?

me
: erm. is it true that people other than jews are... erm. are not... erm how shall i put this into words eh. erm. erm.

him
: accepted?

me
: haa, i've heard that people other than jews are not accepted to live in this world? (macam mulut terkunci daripada cakap pasal those things i wud like to clarify about their kitab. huee)

him
: no. all religions are accepted. even in jerusalem, there are jews, muslims and christians. hmm. what else do you know about us?

me
: hmm. i know that all the 3 religions have a strong desire to possess the power over baitul maqdis? as for jews, you ppl are searching for the solomon temple? yes?

him
: (tk ingat apa dia cakap)

me
: and i know about the issues on gaza.....

him
: ouh, that's politics already
(baiklah, saya angguk sbb nak avoid sensitive issues. memandangkan issue kapal mavi marmara sangat hangat satu dunia masa tu)

me
: ouh and i know that not all jews are zionists.

him
: *nodded*

me
: and there are also muslim zionists....

him
: *thinking* *nodded*

*dah nak landing*
conversation diteruskan dgn tukar topic lain, pasal sydney.
tapi sedikit rasa tk puas sebab ada banyak points yang tk tercakap. antaranya

1. nak cakap "i've been to the two holiest mosques ;- masjidil haram and masjidin nabawi. and to prostrate in the third holiest mosque in the sight of Allah, masjidil aqso is a desire i am dying wanting to cherish!"
2. nak promote movie Arranged!

okay. quick post jadi long post.

wallahua'lam.
