of my furore.

well the fact that i had been exposed to the doctors' career semasa dalam proses interview untuk JPA scholarship dan pengalaman berada di hospital selayang selama seminggu during Pre-Med, juga in-person conversations w/ some doctors menyebabkan saya sort of unsurprised when i first spotted a doctor's comment in the first link a couple of days ago; abt his complaints of his hectic life, kerja 36 hours in a row buat ward round and rawat pesakit luar. erm its kinda common for us, medical students to hear abt this, from the newspaper or from our seniors yang dah jadi housemen atau yg sudah masuk clinical years. bukan setakat on-calls, ada yang kata masa housemen nnt kena jadi kuli bagai la etcetc. hue. still remember our time in hospital klang, seorang doktor (race dirahsiakan, lol) was discouraging us n giving a bad pic on us, told us not to become a doc. he even showed us his paycheck and his cell phone yg dah uzur. oho.

okay so what came to my surprise was this minister of health yang sangat bagusnya claimed that on call duty adalah suatu perkara terpencil. hue those doctors are more than just nice to work for long hours dgn ikhlas hati then suddenly hear a statement saying that on-calls tu terpencil? im pretty sure prof malina in selayang would only be content enough if shes able to throw a bombshell at the minister. && foreign doctors ain't the solution, are they, minister? btw his name is Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.

so neway credits to Dr Terpencil who decently explained abt the insensitive nature of the administration w/ the real situation. hue. takut kan nak jadi government servant nanti. gulp. :S
ya Allah, permudahkanla. perhaps w/ our gd intentions, kita tk rasa terbeban dgn on-calls.
hope that pentadbiran ketika itu dah okay. takut plk high expectations.

Fact:

  • on calls means working from 8am till 5pm the next day
  • on calls are frequent. depending in which department you are in
  • average 6-8 on calls, but can be more than 10 on calls per month eg in O&G
  • WORKING MORE THAN 24 HOURS IS THE NORM

PS: was asked by a gewd friend of mine, whether i'll be updating my blogs or not. so here i am, menulis di sini. cuma, blog ini akan ditulis rationally and less craps (mungkin juga kurang personal) inshaAllah, unlike the previous ones which I used to only be writing an entry ketika saya emosi dan jiwa kacau, rofl.
and oh, ES2 results will come out tmrw! doakan hakimah supaya dapat redha dgn wtv grades she gets, ameen. if its excellent, syukur. if its not, la tahzan! por que? fer Allah knows what is best fer ye, while ye know not.
